I decided to rework and expand this rig I made over a year ago. Applying the new things I have learned since then has been a lot of fun! Adding more complexity to the rig, improving some already implemented functions, and figuring out how to accomplish things I hadn't dabbled with before, has been quite the challenge, but a gratifying one. It brought me lots of joy to breathe some more life into this character.
These are the biggest changes: I modified the rig's hierachy, so it can also be used in a game engine. More blend shapes for facial articulation were created. Skinning and deformations were also improved. The animator/user now has more control over which controllers are visible, making it less cluttered to work with. And the rig now also has much more functionality in the arms, including an elbow lock.
